glossa Terms of Service

Last updated: March 17, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of glossa, a browser extension for bilingual subtitles on supported streaming platforms. By installing or using glossa you agree to these terms.

The service

glossa provides two tiers of functionality:

Free tier features remain free and receive updates at no charge. Supporter Beta tier access is tied to your account and carries over as the product evolves.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You can sign in with your email address and a password, or through a supported OAuth provider (Google, Microsoft, or Facebook). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. glossa uses your email address for authentication. Your OAuth provider may supply additional profile information (such as display name or profile picture) as part of the sign-in flow; this data is stored by our authentication infrastructure but is not used by glossa beyond identifying your account. Supporter Beta accounts additionally store your vocabulary list in the cloud to enable sync across devices.

Payments

Supporter Beta tier access is offered as a one-time purchase processed through Paddle, our payment provider. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions, which means Paddle handles billing, VAT, and payment compliance on our behalf. By completing a purchase you also agree to Paddle's terms.

Prices are displayed in your local currency where available and include applicable taxes at checkout.

Refunds

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. Because Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions, refund requests are handled by Paddle directly, please visit paddle.net to submit your request.

Acceptable use

You may use glossa for personal, non-commercial language learning on supported streaming platforms. You may not:
