glossa is a browser extension for bilingual subtitles on supported streaming sites. This page explains what data glossa processes, why it is processed, and what is shared with glossa services.

Why glossa processes it

What glossa does not do

Where data is handled

Authentication and account data are stored on secure cloud infrastructure. For supporter accounts, your known-word vocabulary list is also stored in the cloud to enable sync across browsers and devices. All other processing like subtitle rendering, word highlighting, happens locally in your browser and is never sent anywhere.

When you create an account or reset your password, glossa sends transactional emails (such as verification codes) to your email address via a third-party email delivery service. Your email address is transmitted to that service solely for the purpose of delivering these messages and is not used for marketing.

Retention and security

glossa keeps only the minimum data needed to provide the product. Your data is accessible only to you and is never sold or used for advertising of any kind.
